Farming since 1901 · Retailing since 1994
Traditionally reared meat and vegetables from our family farm
Reared at Grampound and St. Ewe, cut by our butcher in the village square at Probus — three miles from the field it grew in.
No hormones or growth promoters
Never used, never will be. Sprays and fertilisers only where absolutely necessary.
Hung for at least a fortnight
Our South Devon beef is matured on the bone so it is always at its best.
Picked and sold the same day
Many seasonal vegetables come out of our ground and onto the shelf that morning.
The Farm
Five generations in the parish of Creed
Our family farm sits across two locations, at the villages of Grampound and St. Ewe. We have farmed here since 1901, just three miles from the farm shop.
Wherever possible we use traditional farming methods, ensuring high standards of quality and husbandry. We breed cattle, sheep and pigs, grow vegetables for the shop, and grow cereals for our own animal feed.
Our cattle are South Devons, prized for high quality beef carcases with fine fat marbling that keeps the meat moist and full of flavour. They graze grass through spring, summer and autumn, and are fed silage in winter. We have never had a case of B.S.E.

The Shop
A proper village butcher and greengrocer
Stuart, our full-time butcher, will cut the beef, lamb or pork to your exact requirements. Alongside the meat there is fresh fruit and vegetables every day, much of it home grown.
The deli counter is always stocked with cold meats, pate and locally produced cheeses.
Because we produce our own meat and vegetables, we can guarantee the quality and keep our prices competitive.
